When you realize your time is not endless
About 4 years ago I had one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I gave birth to my first daughter. I became a parent. Not only did I experience how powerful the human (womens) body is and how big a parent's heart can be, but I also experienced that something shifted within me. Something big.
Before having children I lived my life thinking that I had all the TIME in this world. I was the only person in charge of my time and in fact I could do what I wanted with it. Yet, I was always rushing. Rushing to work, rushing home after work, rushing to yoga class, rushing to meet a friend. Paradoxically, I was living my life "rushing" through it.
Then I became a parent, and suddenly I was not the only person who needed "my time" anymore. Someone else needed it too. And so that asset that I thought was endless became suddenly limited. I started looking at TIME in a totally different way. Now that I didn't have all the time in the world as I felt I had before, I start realizing how important TIME is to me. "Every second that passes, is not coming back"- I could often tell myself.
And so, that's how I decided to reprioritize what's important to me in this lifetime. TIME has become by far one of my most important assets. Not more money, not more status, not more things. But the freedom to be in THIS moment and LIVE life instead of rushing through it.
As a Coach, I help other people get clarity around what's important to them and check in if they are honoring those values in their own life.
Are you LIVING your life or rushing through it?
